Worship at Trinity

Worship Times

 (September through May)

Sunday - 9 a.m.

Worship led by choirs, organ, and instrumentalists, incorporating historical, yet relevant elements of Lutheran worship. Here you will participate with robed clergy and worship leaders. You will sing hymns, songs, liturgy and psalms from a worship book and hear music from the Renaissance to the contemporary, from Bach to Gospel and a message relevant to our lives today.

Sunday - 10:30 a.m.

Worship led by an ensemble incorporating the best of contemporary Lutheran music. Through worship leaders, electric bass, drums, keyboards, and other instruments, the congregation engages in a time of praise and worship following the historic pattern of Lutheran worship (Gathering, Word, the same message as at 9 a.m., Meal, and Sending.)

Second Sunday Contemplative - 5 p.m.

Contemplative spiritual and prayer practice spans the ages from ancient to post-modern times. On the second Sunday of each month (September – May) we will gather for a meditative service. Prayers for peace will rise as well as prayers for healing and strength. This is a new worship opportunity for Trinity; you are encouraged to participate whether you have burdens you are carrying, or if you just want a time of quiet reflection.

During the year there are special events where we have one worship service only. We also have Family Sundays and Wednesday Worship on special dates throughout the year. Watch the web site and our announcements for these dates!

Summer Worship Times

(Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend)

Sunday - 9 a.m.

Indoor Worship at Trinity

Trinity's summer indoor service honors the rich heritage and deep roots we have as Lutherans. Each week, we feature guest musicians, who encompass an array of musical styles, to inspire us in connecting with God.

Similar to our 9 a.m. service during the fall and winter months, we follow a pattern or liturgy that has been developed over 2000 years: Gather, Word, Meal, Sending. What makes worship traditional is the garb that is hung on it: the style of music, choirs, organ, instruments, assisting ministers, processions, etc.

We believe in our increasingly secular world, the church needs to be more than just a historical witness to the faith. We are the church and we must act as contemporary witnesses to the gospel, bringing its reforming power into the world using the riches of our past, present and the future.

Sunday - 10 a.m.

Outdoor Worship at Drive-In in Houlton, Wi

Pile the kids and the family dog into the car and join us for our fun worship service at the Hilltop Drive-In Theater in Houlton, WI!  The Drive-In is just across the Stillwater bridge:  head east over the bridge, drive to the top of the hill, and look for the signs (it's about five minutes from downtown Stillwater).

The Drive-In service features both contemporary and traditional music, with an eclectic mix of musicians, throughout the summer.

You're welcome to stay in your car (the service is broadcast on the radio) or you can set up a lawn chair and enjoy the warm sun on your face.  We even have coffee and scones before the service, so breakfast is covered! Dress is casual (yes, we've even seen some folks in PJs), the service joyful, and the fellowship warm and welcoming.

Trinity Worship Services Broadcast on Local Cable

Trinity’s 9 a.m. Sunday worship service is broadcast at 11 a.m. on Sundays on Channel 18.  A recorded service airs on Wednesday at 1 & 7 p.m., Thursdays at 1 & 7 a.m., Fridays at 4 & 10 p.m., and Saturday at 9 a.m.

Personal

Though congregational worship is by nature a public expression, we gather as individuals as well, to celebrate God, who knows our name and our very soul. We believe that if we each can create ‘worship space’ in our busy lives, allowing God to take center stage, we will have a personal encounter with God’s holiness, and come away transformed by and connected with the holy spirit. We are dedicated to bringing all worshipers into a closer, deeper relationship with our Creator.

Passionate

God has a passionate love for each one of us, supremely demonstrated by Jesus Christ, through his life and his death upon the cross. Through worship we are called to a passionate response to God’s love – through our songs, prayers, thanksgiving, and service to others. We are committed to developing passionate worshipers in the world.

Purposeful

As a congregation, we’ve spent a great deal of time talking about being “on purpose” in our lives. Worship is no exception. We plan a variety of worship experiences: each one designed to draw a different audience; each one geared to speak of God in a little different way; each one reflecting the hope of the gospel and the promise of baptismal grace.

We never want people to just to go through the motions of worship, but rather to discover that our core purpose in life is to worship the One who has made us. We strive to bring purpose to everything we do in the worship service, from the team-led planning of music and message, to the intentionally warm, friendly leadership and hospitality people experience in our gatherings.

So, go ahead! Check out all our worship opportunities. Try them all on for size! You’re bound to find something that makes God more real in your life than when you first arrived - it’s a promise from God!
