Grades 3 and 4

2017-18 Faith Formation for Grades 3 & 4

3rd & 4th Grade for 2017-18 school year
Grades 3 & 4 will meet together on Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:30pm and follow the ministry description below:

  • Encounter God through Old and New Testament Bible Stories (using Spark Story Bible and other resources, guided discussion, skits, experiments, activities, faith stories, questions, etc.)
  • Connect with God through prayer.  We will use a variety of prayer styles and refer to God (Creator), Jesus (Redeemer), and Holy Spirit (Sustainer).
  • Experience God’s Love through relationships with ministry leaders, small group leaders, peers and guest role models.
  • Respond to God through weekly gratitude practices and offerings.
  • Worship God through participation in monthly family worship services
  • Lent – During four weeks of Lent, students will participate in weekly mini-sessions followed by 30-minute worship services.  (Menu of mini session choices TBA.)  Parents are welcome to participate also.

A NOTE ABOUT OFFERINGS IN WEDNESDAY FAITH FORMATION FOR 3RD & 4TH GRADE

OFFERINGS:  When we share with others, we still have enough for ourselves – that’s how faith and God work!  Giving is faith forming.  We will take an offering every Wednesday evening.  Half of the 3rd and 4th grade offering will support the purchase of 20 Spanish Children’s Bibles that will be presented to families by our high school Trinity missionaries when they go to Mexico in March. The other half will help support the operating expenses of our own church.  We encourage you to make opportunities to visit with your child about giving from their allowances and/or gifts of money rather than always pulling it out of your pocket/purse. Also remember that what you do is their best teacher, so explain to your children how, when and where you have chosen to share financial gifts. Being part of something bigger than ourselves changes the world and gives us joy and purpose.

Other faith-forming stewardship is through our time and talents.  See the “Family Volunteer Opportunities” tab.
