A six-week conversation seeking a deeper understanding of the world bringing our faith into dialogue
with the world’s most innovate thinkers and their ideas.
With talks from a global community, called TED, to inspire us, we will engage in big conversations about leadership, gender, design, community development, health, social media, music, learning and raising kids.
What is TED?
TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences – the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh, UK each summer.
TED is most famous for its award-winning TEDTalks video site, www.ted.com. TEDTalksbegan as a simple attempt to share what happens at TED Conferences with the world. Under the moniker “ideas worth spreading,” talks are released online for people to watch for free from anywhere in the world. TEDTalks attract a global audience in the millions. Today, TED is best thought of as a global community. It’s a community welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world.
