Faith & Family 2020 Vision Team

Thought-provoking, Sobering, Inspiring, Hopeful!  These are just a few words Trinity’s newly formed Faith & Family 2020 Vision Team share with each other as we dive into the latest research regarding youth and what contributes to building consequential faith -- the kind of faith that makes a difference!

The Trinity Congregational Council has asked that Children, Youth and Family be the first ministry area to pilot a 2020 vision. To this end, the Faith & Family 2020 Vision team has come together to begin this vital and exciting conversation and is made up of these Trinity volunteers:

Co-chairs: Mike Johnson, Kathy Luoma
Team Members:  Dave Kahl, Joel Lombard, Jill Longnecker, Jackie Peterson, Deb Simcik, Tina Swanson, Lucinda White, Norma Wilson
Advisors: Tim Coltvet, Pete Erickson, Karen Gieseke
Council Liaison:  Eric Olsen
Staff:  Jody Nyenhuis

Our purpose is to explore and define a sustainable ministry model with the outcome of a maturing Christian faith in children, youth and families.

Ponder this quote taken from the book Almost Christian: What the Faith of Our Teenagers

Is Telling the American Church by Kenda Creasy Dean, “Since the religious and spiritual choices of American teenagers echo, with astonishing clarity, the religious and spiritual choices of the adults who love them, lackadaisical faith is not young people’s issue, but ours.”

Parents, Friends, Leaders — all are welcome!  If you’ve been unable to attend a Faith & Family Team Community Conversation this summer, join the Children, Youth & Family staff and the Faith & Family team members in fillin gout the Faith & Family Survey. Your voice is vital as we gather ideas to help our families navigate this faith journey together!

It is so exciting to be part of a church that, in the midst of a growing ministry to families, takes a proactive stance toward research and recommends best practices to be able to sustain a ministry model where all of us can...Love. Transform. Serve.
