psay what? 2018 Trinity’s Family Psummer Faith Bridge

Save the dates of June 11-13, 2018 for Psay What: Psalms for your Psummer! Something for all ages. Follow the REGISTER button at right.

Psalms for Your Psummer

The word Psalms comes from the greek word “Ψαλμοί “ (Psalmoi).  It’s one of those strange words in English like psychology that drop the “p” because “ps” is just impossible to say. But these 150 prayers, hymns, poems, liturgies, and meditations are all about the unique language that speak to the heart of God’s people.

No other Biblical source is quoted as regularly as the Psalms. “The Lord is my shepherd.” “Be still and know that I am God.”  “My soul thirsts for you.” The voices in these verses span the generations and offer a rich guidebook for our intimacy with God throughout our lives—to be known—to be loved—to be found in grace.

Throughout the Psummer of 2018, we will be exploring the Psalms for all ages and finding ways to put language to our relationship with God. Mark your calendars and open up to the middle of your Bibles. It’s going to be psweet!

Wildflower hike & play for kids and their parents
Sunday, May 20, 1-3 p.m.

Meet at the church and walk together to the ravine and trail just north of Trinity, off Mulberry St. This time of year there are usually tons of wild violets blooming in the ravine and there is a little pstream running through it that is pshallow and perfect for exploring and playing. The trail is paved (though you have to go a little further up Mulberry to access the ramp instead of pstairs) and there is plenty of room in the grass between the trail and pstream to pspread out blankets and lounge and read a Psalm.
