Birth to 3 Yrs

Trinity Children/Youth Ministry Scope & Sequence

Birth through 3 Years:

Our goal is to connect and begin relationships with families even before their first child is born. Our scope and sequence plan through age three includes Baptism Instruction and Baptism, activities during worship services, monthly emailed newsletters, and nursery services on Sunday mornings during the school year.

In grateful response to God’s promise of new birth into a living hope through the sacrament of baptism, and our promise to “place into their hands the holy scriptures,” Trinity is excited to connect with all 2-year old children and their parents.  Age-appropriate Bibles will be distributed at this event as well as tips to help parents make Bible stories become alive for their children.  We will chat about everyday faith and life and ways Trinity can be a supportive partner.  Parents and children will have opportunity to get to know others in same stage of life.  Date/Time to be announced.

Likewise, an event for all 3-year old children and their parents will continue to keep us connected.  It is being developed this summer and details will be shared this fall.

Sunday Mornings
For children ages six weeks through four years old. Children experience the love of Christ through tender care, joyful music, creative dance, meaningful stories and a child-choice play area.

Baptism is an important part of our life together at Trinity. Through baptism we are claimed as God’s beloved people and joined together in God’s mission to love the world.  As a Lutheran community of faith, we welcome infants, children and people of all ages to be baptized into the body of Christ.  We set aside a special time during worship on Sunday mornings to celebrate baptisms. Because baptism is a milestone that connects a person to the community of faith, we strongly encourage baptisms to be celebrated during worship; however, for extenuating circumstances, in consultation with a pastor, a private baptism may be scheduled. If you are interested in scheduling a baptism, please contact Jeannie Wendorf via email or in the Trinity Office at 651-439-7400, ext. 302.
