Key Responsibilities & Process
The Transition Team has identified Trinity’s needs and the desired pastoral skill set. These are summarized in the MSP, which all Lead Pastor candidates will review before their names are considered. The Call Committee will thoroughly understand the information in the MSP before beginning their work.
• Discernment & Recommendation.
Through prayerful conversation—often seeking unanimous agreement—the committee will recommend one final candidate to the congregation.
Confidentiality: Candidate names remain private; only the recommended candidate’s name will be revealed.
Support: Point of contact for synod leadership, utilize synod resources for guidance.
Committee diversity: To ensure a mix of ages, backgrounds, gender, and skills, candidates nominated by congregation members will be considered in addition to this application process.
The committee will provide regular, transparent status updates to the Church Council and Congregation throughout the process.
General commitment: 2–4 hours per week through the end of the search, including regular in-person committee meetings, individual work, candidate interviews, and attendance at Congregational meetings related to the Lead Pastor search.
